Character's Full Name: Dante Montague
PB: Jesse Metcalfe
Character's Starting Level: 8
Character Age: 30
Physical Description:
Dante stands about 5'10 and has a lithe muscular build. He has a naturally-tanned complexion and black hair. While he appears mostly human, his eyes are a dark gold in shade, the pupil vaguely serpentine in shape. He also has the claws/longer nails that hint at his bloodline, although he keeps then filed down to a manageable length and almost always wears gloves. The eyes, when he needs to pass as human, he hides behind special contacts to make them appear more human.

Character's Species/Race: Dragon-blooded human. Descended somewhere along the way from a steel dragon, more info, even more info.

Character History (Pre-Veil):
Dante doesn't remember any of his time before the Veil. He fell through with his two older brothers when he was a young teen, and while they all remember their names, their ages, and that they are related (along with a few odd pieces of knowledge that pop up here and there), the physical memories they possessed before being sent through were lost in the transition.

Post Veil History (if applicable):
Dante was a teenager when he and his two older brothers fell through the Veil together. None of them possessed any memory of where they had come from or why they were now here, and the world they found themselves in was entirely familiar. They'd landed in Miami and had the good fortune to be found quickly and their arrival drawing the attention of a professor who was in the area doing some studies. He took a vested interest in their well-being, being fascinated by their arrival and their (somewhat?) questionable heritage.

It was because of him that they had the freedom to find their feet and learn how to blend in in this world. Dante happened to excel at it, perhaps because he was the youngest and also had a natural charm that helped endear him to those around him. The professor saw that all three of them received an acceptable education and along the way they found a great deal about what they already knew, whether they remembered learning it or not.

He spent the summer after graduation backpacking through Europe and Asia, seeing what he could of the world and living as he went. He worked his way through university and afterwards worked with his brothers here and there before finally taking a gamble and settling down in London, enjoying the atmosphere there.

Purchasing an old rundown property, he transformed the place into a nightclub he named Paradise that quickly grew in popularity and now, having owned the place for almost half a decade, is living comfortably on its reputation and income. And if he also uses his position to make connections and learn information while he does it? Well, having two older brothers with questionable connections and occupations of their own makes that come in useful more often than not. He deals in entertainment and gossip and anything that he finds 'interesting'. And as his tastes are quite varied? There's no guessing what that might be.

Personality and Psychology:
Dante is a charming rogue. Smooth-tongued and quick-witted, he's made a lair for himself in London that's full of life and energy and he rules at its center. He thrives on the atmosphere and flourishes in the life he's made for himself. He enjoys people, finds them fascinating, and always loves being in the thick of everything. He's never fully felt part of humanity, having arrived as he did and with differences that set him apart (although he has ways of blending in when he needs to - special contacts and gloves, mostly) but he loves observing and learning and listening. He finds it endlessly entertaining, although often purposefully keeps himself distanced and aloof, avoiding messy connections that could complicate things.

Dante is the sort to very much to keep people at arm's length - he prefers to observe rather than get involved. He dabbles a lot in friendships, shallowly, and the same could be said of dalliances and relationships. He takes a much more casual approach to people and connections and the only people he feels a deep and abiding loyalty to are his two brothers, the professor who took them in and sheltered them, and a few rare companions who have stubbornly stuck with him along the way. And while he might be snoopy enough to gossip about and stick his nose into everyone else's business, he keeps his own concerns and thoughts to himself most of the time, preferring to appear the congenial and humorous flirt who never looks too deeply past the surface, when that is actually just a protective cover for the sharp cleverness and intuition he's always had a knack for.

He's easygoing and likable, has a quick sense of humor and can often be found teasing or joking or grinning, keeping moods and amusements up of those around him. He has a long fuse before his temper is sparked, but when it is, it is sharp and deadly, he's decisive and quick to act once pushed to that extreme and his tongue's sharp humor can turn even more cutting and cruel when wielded as a weapon. While it takes a while to breach his aloof defenses, those he does claim as 'his' he becomes fiercely protective of. In general, he abhors bullies and won't stand aside when he sees someone helpless taking the brunt of abuse or cruelty undeserved (although his reactions often come in subtle or sudden ways, interfering with a swiftness and sureness that most bystanders aren't even sure what happened until after he's acted and dissolved whatever situation has arisen). While he is easygoing and fun, he has a strict code of honor he's always followed, his own moral guideline, and he acts in accordance to his conscience first and foremost.

He keeps his body honed in top shape and he's very attractive (and knows it). When he smiles, he has deep dimples and a cheerfulness that is often infectious, even if his is often roguish/mischievous. He flirts and teases and jokes quite a bit and loves it when people match his wit. He almost always falls back on talking before acting (especially when situations turn volatile) but if a problem can't be talked away, he's also quite capable of handling himself in a fight. He moves with confidence and a bit of a cocky swagger and there's a hint of feline grace in his movements that can turn almost predatory when he's in certain moods, his focus able to sharpen with a suddenness and intensity that can give away that he's not just the affable host he so often projects to the world at large.

Powers and Abilities:
Being a Dragonblooded human, Dante automatically starts out with +2 Str, +2 Con, +2 Cha, being much more durable than a normal human because of his heritage. The Dragon he is descended from was Lawful Neutral and a Steel Dragon (although he has no real knowledge of this) which explains part of the strict code of morals he has always lived his life by (even when it vexes him to no end).

He has combat training, learned from a brother who is a master in his skills. His preferred weapon is small daggers he keeps tucked on his person, as they are useful as projectiles and for up close and personal confrontations. He has a knowledge and understanding of poisons and their antidotes and has been known to use them in extreme situations, and possesses a resistance to most poisons. (Whether I can keep this as part of something he inherited from his bloodline since it's a trait inherent in steel dragons, I figured I'd work out later). I may also involve some innate charm abilities here as well? His powers/abilities are still something I'm working out in what I can work with and what's available for a Dragon-Blooded. I'll be knocking him into Charismatic Hero with a mind to move him towards Negotiator and maybe a few other classes on the side as boosts, but this is flexible still.

Mostly what he comes in with as innate abilities that i'm willing to work around is that he's a little stronger/faster than a normal human when he exerts his strength and focus. He has the claws from his heritage that he is quite capable of using as a weapon themselves, despite keeping them filed down a bit to make them less noticeable. He has an affinity when it comes to poisons (a natural resistance as well as an understanding of them for various uses). He is naturally charming and people found drawn to him, but he's not above manipulating that to his own means when he's after something.

Another skill he's had when I've played him before which is a little harder to work into this is a shielding ability, as in forming a shield around himself (or something/someone of his choosing) of magic/power - this can both be as a protection against an attack or what's known as a 'sight shield' if he wants to hide something specific (like his claws, etc) and the larger the object/person he's shielding the more magic it costs him/length he can hold it. He typically shields before venturing into a volatile situation just as an extra level of protection, since he is not a natural fighter despite his skill with daggers.

Any other important information (including special inventory items in their possession):
The man has a lair beneath his club. He likes shiny things. He collects a lot of strange and weird things, but most get tucked away in his private quarters rather than out in the open in the public area of his club, although that in itself is tastefully decorated with an eye for style and flash. He has a few mementos from his brothers he often keeps on him and is often wearing jewelry (something he waves off as a fashion choice, but it probably more his dragon side peeking through).

Why do you think this character would join/work with the Knights?
Boredom. I think there are several people who would interest him enough to get him to take a second look. At the very least, he'd come along on the "making connections" end of things. Plus, being a "Shadow-worlder" with the current atmosphere as it is has him a little paranoid and wanting to see what measures are being taken about it.

I think I'd either like him introduced through a mission being useful for some reason, or if not that then both Lorne or Zaihne have possible underworld/mercenary connections that could lead back to him to get him involved. His club Paradise is his lair but it's also a front for Dante's other dealings with Shadowkind (often of a less reputable nature, as his side job is that of a more mercenary sort). He is very firm on his club being neutral territory for both Shadowkind and humans alike, which is part of the draw in the party scene in London. (Think Magnus from Mortal Instruments or Lorne's role in Angel, that's the closest comparison I can think of). The name of Paradise was a bit of tongue-in-cheek for him, since he claims you come there to find whatever you're looking for.

Do you have a preference for which member of the Knights your character is squired to? Nope! Although someone with a lot of patience for shenanigans and sass would probably be recommended. >.>
